NICK!!!!! My favorite past time

Remember the good ol' days when you can just leave it on NICK and watch every show from morning to night. Coming back from school and knowing you have something to watch.NICK was very entertaining and it was all kids cared about when I was growing up. When they canceled these shows I felt like I lost my right hand man. I felt naked......I was scared. Doug all the way to Rocko's Modern Life molded NIcktoon history and paved the way for shows like Sponge Bob Squarepants.

NAH I FORCED IT!!!!!!!

But............I wanted to bring some closure to audiences everywhere and also shine a little light on some the greatest cartoons every made.

DOUG...

Doug premiered on Nickelodeon on August 11, 1991, where it ran until December 16, 1994 and in reruns until 1999, being the first Nicktoon. The creator of the show, Jim Jinkins, named the main character Doug after his godson, Doug Eckhardt. The original version was moved to Nickelodeon's sister-station Noggin, and later to Nicktoons TV, where it ended in 2005. These seasons were produced between 1991 and 1994. In 1996, Disney produced new episodes following its acquisition of Jumbo Pictures. It ran on ABC from 1996-1999, as part of Disney's One Saturday Morning block and on The Toon Disney Channel from 2001-2004. Disney's Doug also aired on UPN's Disney's One Too Weekday morning block from 1999-2000. Re-runs aired on The Disney Channel from 2001-2002.

Key Characters:
Douglas Yancey "Doug" Funnie
Mosquito "Skeeter" Valentine(How many of you guys knew his name was Mosquito..HAHAAHAA)
Patricia "Patti" Mayonnaise

RUGRATS...
It was the network's second Nicktoon. The series was in production from 1991 to 1994, and again from 1996 to 2003. It aired in Nickelodeon's Snick block from 1997-2001. It is the longest lasting Nicktoon to date at over fourteen years longevity. The Rugrats received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a ceremony on June 28, 2001. It is the second longest running animated show in the US (14 years), only losing to The Simpsons.
The show airs in the UK on CITV and Nickelodeon UK as well as in Canada on YTV. In Australia, it can be seen on Nickelodeon Australia (and, for a period, ABC).
Ranked the 40th greatest cartoon ever by the British Public.
In 2001, Rugrats celebrated 10 years. The special "Rugrats: All Growed Up" was produced for that occasion.

Key Characters:
Tommy Pickles
Dill
Angelica
Chuckie Finster
Phil and Lil Deville
Susie Carmichae

ROCKO'S MODERN LIFE...
This is interesting....READ THIS
Originally, the character Rocko appeared in an unpublished comic book titled Travis. Murray tried selling the comic book in the late 1980s, between illustrating jobs, and did not find success in getting it in production. Many other characters appeared in various sketchbooks.
Murray described the early 1990s animation atmosphere as "ripe for this kind of project. We took some chances that would be hard to do in these current times," with the "current times" being the 2000s.
Murray wanted funding for his independent film "My Dog Zero," so he wanted Nickelodeon to pre-buy television rights for the series. Murray presented a pencil test to Nickelodeon Studios which afterwards became interested in buying and airing the show. Linda Simensky, then in charge of animation development in Nickelodeon, informed Murray about the Nicktoons lineup and concept. Murray originally felt skepticism towards the concept of creating a Nicktoon as he disliked television cartoons. Simensky told Murray that Nicktoons differed from other cartoons. Murray told her that he believed that "My Dog Zero" would not work as a cartoon. He researched Nickelodeon believed that the "attitude was different than regular TV." Murray combed through his sketchbooks, developed the Rocko's Modern Life concept, and submitted it to Nickelodeon, believing that the concept would likely be rejected. According to Murray, around three or four months later he had "forgotten about" the concept and was working on "My Dog Zero" when Simensky informed Murray that Nickelodeon wanted a pilot episode. Murray said that he was glad that he would get funding for "My Dog Zero." On his website Murray describes "My Dog Zero" was "that film that Linda Simensky saw which led me to Rocko."
Murray originally wrote "Sucker for the Suck-O-Matic" as the pilot; the executives decided that Heffer Wolfe, one of the characters, would be "a little too wierd for test audiences." Murray, instead of removing Heffer from "Sucker for the Suck-O-Matic," decided to write "Trash-O-Madness" as the pilot episode.
When the series was in development prior to the release of the first episode, the series had the title The Rocko Show.
According to Murray, two months prior to the production of season 1 of Rocko's Modern Life, Murray experienced an event that he describes as "a horrible tragedy" and that he felt that he had emotional and physical "unresolved issues" when he moved to Los Angeles. He describes the experience as like participating in "marathon with my pants around my ankles." Murray initially believed that he would create one season, move back to the San Francisco Bay Area , and "clean up the loose ends I had left hanging." Murray said that he felt surprised when Nickelodeon approved new seasons.Nickelodeon renewed the series for its second season in December 1993.
After season 3 he decided to hand the project to Stephen Hillenburg, who performed most work for season 4; Murray continued to manage the cartoon. Murray said that he would completely leave the production after season 4. Murray said that he encouraged the network to continue production. Nickelodeon decided to cancel the series. Murray described all fifty-two episodes as "top notch" and that, in his view, the quality of a television show may decline as production continues "when you are dealing with volume."
On his website Murray said that, "In some ways it succeeded and in some ways failed. All I know it developed it’s own flavor and an equally original legion of fans."
In a 1997 interview Murray said that he at times wondered if he could re-start the series; he feels the task would be difficult.

WHatS THe WorLD COmig Too?

Hello everyone.....

I kind of wanted to start on serious note but usually it won't be like this. I am just going to talk about whatever comes to mind most of the time. Sports,Music, WHATEVEr....IT's MY BLog

I would like to purpose a questions: How do you feel about our economy?

The economy is really really jacked and its sad because the worst part is that I feel alot of people are not informed. If more people were informed then I think as a society we would make a difference and maybe lobby for more jobs and upper mobility within our communities. It doesn't have to go that far.....just being informed can limit stupid spending habits, maybe schools could be cheaper, maybe gas prices can go back to normal (whatever that is).

If your infromed you can also find out that technology has taken alot of jobs which in turn messes our economy all up. Technology is good but at the rate its growing there will be no jobs available for our kid's kids.

The economy can be fixed but I feel that no one knows what to do about it because no one cares to figure it out. If you dont believe me..... read this.

The country's economic health deteriorated further in the early spring as shoppers buckled under the strains of the housing and credit debacles and a weaker employment climate.
Manufacturers and other businesses, meanwhile, were walloped by zooming prices for energy and other raw materials. However, their ability to jack up retail prices to customers was mixed, with some companies restrained by competitive pressures, according to the Federal Reserve's new snapshot of nationwide economic conditions released Wednesday.
